The Nomad system has advantages of simplicity and durability. The system can be adapted for use in industries where a mulitcultural workforce needs to record time and activity information for reporting, productivity and payroll purposes.

The Nomad system for horticulture

The Nomad system is currently used widely in the horticulture industry. The system is ideal for an industry with ever increasing requirements to monitor staff activity and productivity through the accurate gathering and retrieval of information.

Nomad wireless technology allows data to be entered as the job is in progress. The Nomad wireless recording system enables data to be input accurately and efficiently as and when required, by staff using an individual hand-held Nomad unit with a barcode scanner. The information is transmitted automatically from the Nomad Key via wireless links direct to the grower's PC.

The Nomad device is designed to be simple to use. Each employee has their own Nomad unit which they take with them while they perform their tasks, collecting and entering data as they move around the glasshouse. With the Nomad unit having its own memory, workers can be out of wireless range. As soon as the Key is back in range of a receiver the information stored on the unit is automatically uploaded to the PC.

Productivity and accuracy is improved with the Nomad system. Workers no longer need to walk to the end of a path to a terminal and back again to enter data. Pests and diseases can be reported the moment they are detected, enabling action to be taken immediately.
